| Otaku in Japanese literally means Anime Freak. In Japan it is an insult. In America some people call themselves Otakus. I guess sometimes around here we use it as a label. Sort of like Goth, Prep, and now we have Otaku. |

Conventions Conventions are a fun way to meet other people who love anime. Some activities at conventions include cosplaying skits, hall cosplay, videogame tournaments, things to buy, and sometimes Dance Dance Revolution. Just watch out for glomping! Glomping is a hug with a running start, us8ually from a stranger, and almost always when you're cosplaying a kawaii character. |

Cosplay Cosplay is when you dress up as a character from an anime and act like them. During conventions many people cosplay their favorite characters and perform skits. If you make your own costume you can participate in Hall Cosplay competitions where your costume is judged on the craftmanship. |
