Japan is the land of the Rising Sun. The culture and language are not comparable to most of the western world. Japan was an isolated island until the late 1800's. They have many distinctly Japanese ways.

	Kimono Kimonos are traditional Japanese dress. They are hard to put on and the wearer usually adorns herself with flowers, layers of underclothes, jewelry, intricate bows, and ties wears an obi (sash) around the waist.
	More Random Facts Samurai lived and died by a strict code of honor. They were warlords of Kamakura (a city). For nearly 150 years Japan was governed by them. Shoguns were military rulers. The first shogun was Yorimoto. On August 6 in 1945, a U.S. Air Force plane dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima. Now, there is a peace memorial there. The main religion in Japan is a mixed form of Buddism and Shindoism.
