Alching is another great way to make money in RuneScape. Alching is a magic skill learned at magic level 55 and lets you convert items into money by using a nature rune and five fire runes (or a fire staff). You can alch yew or magic long bows and make more money than you paid for the nature rune and the bow (or the raw materials).

Merchanting is one of the most unused ways of becoming rich, but it is one of the best. It is simply the process of buying an item for a certain price and then selling it to another player for much more. To many this is a difficult task to complete, but if you are skilled in knowing what people want and what they are willing to give for it, you can make a lot of money merchanting.

Pking (or Player-Killing) is one of the most widely attempted ways to make money in RuneScape, however it is one of the most difficult. Players wishing to make money this way head to a barren forest in northern RuneScape where they are free to attack other players. Often newer players enter this area seeking fortune and are slaughtered by other experienced players. Normally upon dying you would lose all of your items except your three most valuable, but if you attack someone in the wilderness you earn a white skill, as shown in the picture. This will cause you to lose al of the items you have with you if you die.

Runecrafting is the skill that is used to craft magical runes stones, which are used to cast spells. Nature runes are the most commonly made runestone because they are used in the alching process. Runecrafters with a high enough level can pay 25-50gp for a blank stone and then use their skill to craft it into a nature rune at the nature altar, then being able to sell this for 300-325gp.
