Great Items

In RuneScape, you must devote much time to training if you want to increase your skill levels. One of the most trained and most fun skills in the game would have to be combat. In order to train however, you will have to defeat enemy monsters or other players. In the following paragraphs you will discover how to make the most fun of your RuneScape combat.

There are several types of metals that weapons can be crafted out of in RuneScape. These metals, in the form of daggers, are shown here. All melee weapons are made from these metals, with the exception of the other weapons pictured below. The main eight metals can be crafted themselves using the smithing skill. Below are pictured a few of the melee weapons in RuneScape that are not made of these metals.

Bows, on the other hand, are not made of metal, but instead they are made from wood or crystal. All bow wood types in RuneScape are pictured at the right, excluding the crossbow and phoenix crossbow.

Magic in RuneScape is cast using runestones. They are small, round stones that have various symbols engraved on them. Staves can be used by players to increase their magic bonus, therefore increasing the chance that the mage will hit higher. Not all magic is used for attacking; some is used for making money or food. Pictured at the left is a mage in RuneScape, and some runestones are pictured below.

Melee armor in RuneScape is made using the same metals pictured above in the weapons section. Each metal has s unique defense bonus and is also smeltable (except black armor). Pictured here is a player in rune armor that is wielding a dragon long sword.

Mages in RuneScape use robes and magical hats to boost their magic strength and to protect themselves from others’ spells. There is a massive array of robes in RuneScape, and pictured here is a player in Zamorak robes.

Rangers in RuneScape also have their own type of armor. This armor is made by crafters with the hide of dragons and gives them an attack bonus for range. Pictured at the left is a player wearing blue dragonhide armor and a leather coif.

The Duel Arena is a large area in the desert north of Al Kharid that players travel to from all of RuneScape. Two fighters find each other in the waiting hospital and challenge the opponent to a duel. If both accept, they proceed to the arena and fight to the death, as seen in the picture.

Castlewars is a massive battlefield west of Yanille which contains two castles. Players first choose a god to battle for (Saradomin or Zamorak), then wait five minutes in a preparation cave. After the waiting is over, the teams are placed out into the field and participate in a capture-the-flag type game, only with deadly consequences.

The Fight Pits are located deep in the Tzhaar caves under Karamja’s volcano. Players gather their best equipment and head here to fight for prestige, glory, and of course, reward. The game is just a massive fight, resulting in the most powerful warrior being named champion and denoted by a red skull. He/she is rewarded with a large sum of Tzhaar money (tokkul) upon leaving, which can be spent in one of the cave’s many shops. Shown here is a fight pit champion standing in the arena after killing all other competitors.
