BOSTON REDSOX

The Yankees vs. Redsox is known as the ‘rivalry”.  It all started in 1918 Harry Frazee sold Babe Ruth to the Yankees.  The Yankees are the most successful team in history.  They have had some of the greatest players ever to play for them from Babe Ruth, Yogi Berra, and Mickey Mantel.  The Redsox have had their fair share of players with Jim Rice, Carol Yastrzemski, Jimmy Foxx, Johnny Pesky, and Ted Williams.

One time at Yankees stadium Mickey Mantel hit a 440-ft double then motioned to the Redsox dugout.  Too the Redsox the Yankees are the evil empire.  The Yankees have dominated the series of the years, but they are experiencing a five-year World Series drought.  In the 2003 ALCS Pedro Martinez said he would hit Jorge Posada in the head next time he got up to bat.  The Yankees responded by throwing at Manny Ramirez then the benches cleared at the two-teams went at it.

They also fought in the 2004 regular season when Bronson Arroyo hit Alex Rodriguez in the elbow and Alex got mad and tried to get to the mound, but Jason Varitek blocked him then the two went at it and the benches cleared. Alex, Jason, and David Ortiz all received 5 game suspensions. All in all it mostly has been the same story for Red Sox fans make it to the playoffs and loose to the Yankees. It’s gone from Mantel VS Yastremski to Ramirez VS Rivera and the latest was fight was Varitek VS Rodriguez.
