BOSTON REDSOX

For 86 years The Curse of the Bambino has haunted the Red sox. In 1918 Red sox owner Harry Frazee sold Babe Ruth to the Yankees to finance a Broadway musical “No Nanette”. Many believe that Babe Ruth curse the Red Sox. Since 1918 until 2004 the Red Sox did not win one World Series in fact they came within one strike of winning against the Mets.

It was in the 10th inning and Mookey Wilson was up with a batter on third with two strikes and two outs. Mookey hit a slow grounder down the first base line and it rolled through Bill Buckner’s legs. One of the most hated Yankees ever by Red Sox fans is Buckey Dent who hit a home run over the Green monster to end the red Sox season. In 2004 Pedro Martinez said “I will drill the Bambino in (for lack of a better word) butt”. A few days later Pedro hurts his elbow and doesn’t win a game the rest of the season. On a cool August night it was a full lunar eclipse and the Yankees had lost 22-0. Manny Ramirez hit a foul ball and hit the kid who lives in Babe Ruth’s former house in the head and the kid began to bleed. The curse started as a myth then fuelled by strange occurrences and Bostonians it turned to a legend. But in 20004 the Red Sox made history and won the World Series. Edgar Renteria made the last out wearing number 3 which was Babe Ruth’s number.
