Tony Hawk was born in 1968 in San Diego, California. He is one of the most famous a skateboarders in the world. The reason is that on June 27, 1999, at the X-Games, in San Francisco, California, he was the first skater ever to land a 900. But what makes him very famous is that he has seven video games with his name on them, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. He skates for the Birdhouse team. And even though he is 38, he still skateboards today.

Rodney Mullen was born in 1766 in Gainesville, Florida. He started skating when he was ten years old. In the 1980's he was called the "King of Freestyle," because he won nearly every freestyle competition he has ever entered. He is a member of the Powell Peralta team, more known as the "Bones Brigade."

Tony Alva was born in 1957 in Santa Monica, California. He began skating when he was ten years old. He was one of the first professional skateboarders ever. By 1975, Alva was a member of the Zephyr surf company's skate team called the Z-Boys. In 1976 he won the Men's Overall World Professional Skateboard Championship.

Brandon "Bam" Margera was born on September 28, 1979, in West Chester, Pennsylvania. He skates for the Element skate company. He is not known for his skateboarding as much as his TV. show Viva La Bam, but he did appear in a numerous amount of skate competitions and in Tony Hawk video games.

Bob Burnquist was born in 1976 in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. He started skateboarding at the age of 11. In 1995 he entered and won his first skateboard competition, The Slam City Jam. After that he won many competitions. In 1999 he won the gold metal at The Gravity Games. In 2000, he won the Best Trick Competition ant the X-Games. Also, in the 2001 X-Games he placed first in vert.

Ryan Sheckler (born December 30, 1989) became the worlds youngest professional skateboarder by the age of 13. By the age of 15,  he won over 150 events in his life. In 2003, he won the X-Games gold. He skates for the Almost skate company.
