Santa Monica or Dogtown is where skateboarding all began. Over half of the first professional skaters started out in Dogtown. An example is the Z Boys, a very famous skate team. It has more skate parks than many cities in the U.S. But back in the old days, instead of skate parks, most skateboarders skated in empty pools behind houses. So if you skateboard in pools illegally (which is not recommended), or skateboard at various parks, Dogtown is the place for you.
This is Curt Pernice Skate Park. This 30,000 sq. ft. park is a skaters dream park. It is located in Sacramento, CA. Curt Pernice is one of the biggest public skate parks in the U.S. For that reason professional skateboarders road trip to Curt Pernice 24/7. The whole skate park is made of concrete, so it isn't safe for amateur skateboarders.
Vans skate park located in Orange County, CA. This skate park is a favorite to many pro skaters. Also Vans Skate Park is home to many professional skate competitions. The park is 30,000 sq. ft. of fun and danger. The ramps are so slippery that about 20 major injuries happen weekly. So if you plan on skateboarding here, be a good skateboarder, or where a helmet.
Radlands was built in November in 1992. It is located in  Northampton, England. Radlands is one of the world's finest constructed skate parks. By competition time, skaters from all over the world come to shred the park. And no matter how far away you live from it, once you go once you can't stop coming back.
Burnside is located on the east side of the Willamette River. Built without permission, Burnside's growth and evolution have matured into one of the best skate parks in the world. This park influenced community built skate parks in the U.S.
The Skate Park of Tampa is home of the Tampa Am and Tampa Pro (two very big competitions). The winner of the Tampa Am competition, becomes a pro. And the winner of the Tampa Pro competition, gets even more fame. The park opened up on December 28, 1992 in Tampa Bay, Florida.  If you are looking for a public skate park with a lot of history, this park is for you.
