The music you use for jazz is faster pace than ballet.  The tempo and the beat are faster and livelier.  Jazz dance is sometimes performed to jazz music.

 

 

 

Jazz shoes should fit you perfectly. You don’t want to get them too loose or too tight.  Jazz shoes usually come in black and tan colors.  You will find good quality jazz shoes at a dance store. 

 

 

For jazz you need to be stretched and warmed up.  Jazz is a high pace workout.  So if you don’t warm up or strength you will get hurt or pull something.

 
 

Jazz differs from country to country and place to place so there is no definite type of jazz.  Jazz dance varies it depends on the choreographers and what style of jazz they want to do.  You can expect the same move to have many different names.

 

  The jazz dance form is commonly used in Broadway shows and movies.  Jazz is a less serious, looser, kind of dance compared to ballet that is why its used more.  Some traditional musical jazz numbers are "All That Jazz", and "Chicago".
 

Jazz is a less serious looking, looser kind of dance compared to ballet.  Even though jazz dancing may look easy and fun when the dancers do it.  Most of the dancers have to be in really good shape and practice everyday up to 6 hours a day.
