Another rule is when the teams are lined up on there sides and one player goes over the line of scrimmage before the quarterback says hut, it's called off sides. The only way to play for football is to have positions. The quarterback is the player who receives the ball from the center at the start of each play. He either hands it off to the funning back, throw it to the wide receiver, or run it himself. The job of a wide receiver is mainly to catch the ball the quarterback throws. The defensive linebacker is someone who lines up behind the defensive linemen and infront of the defensive backfield. The safety helps the cornerbacks in pass coverage.
