Grunts Grunts are weak for being in the covenant side. Their weapons are a plasma pistol, a needler, and a plasma grenade. An Elite will command them. If you shoot them in the head, or a few shots anywhere, or a melee attack should kill them.

Jackals Jackels are not as weak as grunts, but they are weak if you can shot pass their energy shield. Shoot them in the head or a few shoots any where there is no shield. The melee attack should kill them. Like grunts the elites will command them. Jackels carry plasma pistols (with a shield), or a beam rifle (with no shield). Also, if you get close up to a Jackel with a beam rifle, it will drop the beam rifle and run away turning on it's shield and taking out it's plasma pistol. If you can find it's skin through 1 of the 2 holes and shoot it, the shield will move up and give you the chance to get good shots at its unprotected body.

Drones Drones are a new covenant that was added in Halo 2 and not on Halo 1. They are about the size of a grunt. They have hard shells, and the ability to fly. This makes them a hard target to shoot or kill, but like Grunts, you shoot them in the head or a few shots any where. The drones hold a plasma pistol or a needler.

Hunters The Hunters are heavily armored worm-like creatures. They are the hardest covenant to kill. They are like living tanks. They attack in pairs and if you kill its loved one it gets enraged and becomes stronger. Their speed and strength is incredible for their size. They have a huge shield on their left arm that will attack twice (uppercut then slam it down on you) if you get too close to them. On the other hand there is a fuel rod cannon. This cannon can even be trouble for the mighty scorpion. the main weakness is if you can shoot at the orange spots unprotected by the armor.

Brutes These are fur-covered giants are new to Halo 2 like the drones. They have a hard time dealing with elites. They are strong in strength and stamina; they use weapons that differ from what the standard covenants use. Their weapons are the brute plasma pistol and the brute shot. If there is a squad of brutes and you kill all but 1 it will go berserk on you. It will drop its weapon and try to attack you with it’s massive body.

Elites The elite race is a proud warrior race that has a split chin. They are subservient only to the prophets. They are superior to humans in every way. They are brutal in close and far range. Their standard battle armor is very tough and can make them invisible. Their entire bodies are cover by energy shields that recharge in about 5-7 seconds. Elites are even better than the Super-Soldier, which the master chief is the only known survivor. Their weapons are plasma rifle, plasma grenade, and energy sword. Also they are foot soldiers, drivers, hijackers, and pilots. As they are dying, some of them will shoot as they fall to the ground. This is a character that you will play as. When you play as it you are called the Arbiter and your job is to activate a halo. You have to be the Arbiter because you lost one of the seven rings of halo and you were sentenced on death row. Since no one has ever accomplished the Arbiter job, it is his sentence. You can also pick up any weapon on the ground or swap with a teammate. |

Prophets The Prophets are very weak. They are protected by the elite’s honored guards. These are the leader of the covenant. There are only 3 that you see a lot in the game and they are the council. You kill one and the flood kills one too. Their weapons are still unknown. They sit in a hover chair that you hijack and you melee them to kill them. All other attacks will not kill them.

| Sentinel |
![]() |
Sentinel The Sentinels are machines built to maintain the flood, but now they want someone to activate Halo because they can't. They are led by the orbiter. They shoot laser weapons (sentinel beam). They are slow and they can fly. They are more damaged from plasma than bullets, but their own weapon is the best against them. |
| Human |

Spartan The only know living Spartan is the master chief. He is never your enemy. He is the first character that you play as. The covenant calls him Demon. He is in armor like the elites that have energy shields. You can also pick up any weapon on the ground or swap with a teammate. He is the one who blew up one of the seven rings.

Troops Troops are average people that will shoot and throw grenades at the covenant. If you kill them as the master chief, they will turn on you and shoot you.
|
|
Flood There are three versions of the flood, infection form, combat form, and the carrier form. They are parasites. |
![]() |
Infection Form The infection form is the first stage of the flood. Individually weak these vile creatures attack in dozens or even hundreds. It mutates in the combat form by killing an enemy. It will take over it's enemy's body. They take over covenant and Marines. A SMG (Sub Machine Gun) is a good weapon to use on these guys.
|
|
![]() |
Combat Form Combat form is fast, tough, and agile. They are Zombie like form of the flood and Marines. They will melee you and shoot you. They have no fear of death, or injures. They take the weapon that the infection form killed and turn into a combat form holding that same weapon. |
|
![]() |
Carrier Form When the battle is over the damage combat form turns in to carrier form. The carrier form is made by swelling of the combat form. Growing inside this form is the Infection Form. It will trip and explode when it gets close enough and let out the infection form inside of it. |
