The Background Information

        Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was made in 1937.  It was the first full length animated film that was eighty-three minutes long color. Walt Disney came up with the idea Snow White when he was fifteen years old. At that time he was a newsboy in Kansas. He got the idea from a silent film version.

       It was one of the greatest classic film in history. Snow White was the last major classic film released in late 1944. This movie was reissued eight times between 1944 and when it was released on video in 1994.

      Even though the movie cost 1.4 million dollars to make it all paid off in the end. The total amount the movie made 8.5 million dollars. Keep in mind this was when children were paying a dime to see the movie, today it would be worth several hundreds of millions of dollars.

      The voice of Snow White was nineteen-year-old Adriana Caselotti. She landed the role as Snow White's voice by simply listening in one of her parents phone call. She sang the best note she could and before she knew it she got the part.

As you can see Walt Disney has a pretty successful start in his soon famous children's movie industry. Now Walt is a famous man and has become much more than that. As coming with being (now) famous he will on forever even though he had died.

           Snow White is a noble Princess with a jealous stepmother the Queen. The Queen wants to be the fairest in the land but Snow White is the Fairest. The stepmother decides she needs to kill Snow White. The Huntsman who was to kill Snow White could not because she was so innocent and sweet. He told her to do deep into the forest and to never return. She finds herself in a cottage with the Seven Dwarfs for a safe place to stay. The jealous stepmother finds out that Snow White is still alive. One day when the Dwarfs are working in working in a diamond mine, the queen dresses up as a peddler woman and goes to the

cottage of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The Queen convinces Snow White to try one of her delicious red apples and she did not knowing it was poisonous. She takes a bite of one of the apples and she fell into a death like sleep. The Dwarfs arrive home and finds Snow White lying on the floor and believes she is dead. They make her a glass couphan in the forest and sees Snow White. When a princes passes by the couphan in the forest and sees Snow White. He gives her a kiss, which breaks the spell. The return to his castle and live happily ever after.

The Background of Sleeping Beauty

Sleeping beauty was produced in 1959 as well as shown as a movie.

      This movie was the most expensive and lavish ones yet. The budget exceeded to six

million dollars. Though it was not a box office success. It was later reissued in 1970, 1979, and 1986. In 1986 it was also released on home video. This movie was more successful during these reissues.

      The voice of Aurora was Mary Costa. Though the character of Aurora was model and designed around Aurdey Hepburns elegant features. The desiner of this Aurora was Tom Oreb. Later, Tom Orebs' assistant sharpened her features and clothes to blend in with her surroundings.

The Story of Sleeping Beauty

           Princess Aurora was cursed by an evil fairy named Maleficient and was to die at the age of sixteen by pricking her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel. Aurora had three good fairies; Flora, Faund, and Marryweather to protect her the fairies took Aurora to a cottage in a forest and gave her a new name of Briar Rose. While in the forest she met a peasant man and fell in love.

The fairies told her about her real name, Aurora. She was not happy at all. She now felt that

she had to sacrificeher only true love for her royal duties . One of those duties was to marry Prince Phillip. She did not know that the peasant was also Phillip.

       As Aurora returned to her castle she discovers a spinning wheel. She pricks her finger on the spindle fans the entire castle falls into a deep sleep. The only way Aurora and the people in the castle can be saved is if Aurora is kissed by her true love.

      Before he kissed Aurora he must defeat Maleficent. Maleficent had now become a ferocious dragon. The fairies put all of their magic together to create a sword of truth. This will make any evil be defeated. Indeed it did. The Evil Maleficent was gone.

      Prince Phillip gave Aurora a kiss and she awoke from her spell. They then announced there love for each other to the whole kingdom and lived happily ever after.
