THE STORY OF CINDERELLA

The story of Cinderella has been told many times and different ways; the most popular and   most told story is Walt Disney’s. Cinderella has been left with mean and bossy step-sisters as well as a step-mother after her father died. She is made to serve for her step-sisters and step-mother, but when she’s not working she sits by the fire to get warm.

When a message from the king and queen arrives they are invited to a royal ball, Cinderella cannot go. Her step-mother forbids her to go and not to leave the house. Her step-mother wants her daughters to impress the prince.

Even though Cinderella is not allowed to go to the ball, her friends (mice) make her dress to go go to the ball in. When her step-sisters see her getting into the carriage they tore it apart and left her once again with rags.

While Cinderella weeps her fairy god-mother gives her a beautiful dress, carriage, and horsemen; made of Cinderella's surroundings.

When she arrives at the ball the prince and Cinderella instantly fall in love and dance until midnight. While running away at midnight she loses a shoe.

The prince finds the shoe and begins the search for his love. When the prince arrives at Cinderella's house she is locked in her room . Eventually she escapes with the help of her friends and the shoe is fitted. She is his bride and princess and they lived happily ever after.

        The Origination of Cinderella

Cinderella was told in many different variations, but many do not know how it began. There has been three hundred fifty to fifteen thousand variations of this story of Cinderella have been spread around the world. A man of the name Tuan Ch'eng- Shin from China was the first person to create the soon to be most -popular princess. It was made in the middle of the Ninth Century A.D. that was between 859-60 Common Era.

Tuan Ch'eng-Shen named this fairy tale princess Yeh-Shen. Yeh-Shen has so many more differences than Walt Disney's Cinderella such as there wasn't a fairy godmother and instead has a magical fish, her husband died not her father, and there was a golden shoe.

Another version of tale dated back to 1697 from a Frenchmen. This Frenchmen introduced the fairy godmother, the pumpkin carriage, the horsemen transformed from mice, a glass slipper, and the stepsisters.

IN different stories the mother or father died. As you can see there are many versions of Cinderella have been told throughout the world
