The Background Information

       In 1989the movie "The Little Mermaid" was made and released into theaters.

      This story or tale was a taken version of Hans Christian Anersen's tale. Of course Walt Disney modified it to become more appropriate for children to enjoy. Each tale has similarities and differences. Each tale has the mermaid (Ariel) as a headstrong and
 

rebellious personality, in which gets the mermaid into trouble. In both tales tales they also takes something valuable away from them for getting a pair of legs.These are only some examples of similarities.

      Some differences in this story is that the mermaid was cared by different people or creatures, the father plays different roles, different focuses on marrying a human, the sea witch has different personalities, the different consequences of not getting the princes love and being saved by different people or creatures. As you can see there is a lot of differences.

      As you have probably realized by reading this Anderson's was made to be more children like with the different creatures and realities. This is some information about how "The Little Mermaid" was started.

 

 

 

 

 

The Story of The Little Mermaid

          Ariel is the princess of all the sea; her father is King Tritan. King Tritan tries to convince   Ariel that humans are dangerous. Ariel is a very curious young mermaid and she is always exploring in sunken ships and areas of the sea that are dangerous. One day a ship sailing was attacked. Ariel had seen this form of the sea. She helps a man that has fallen, to shore and cares for him until someone came to help him. When the man woke up on the shore he sees her, and Ariel quickly dives into the sea again. Now she is always thinking about the man she saved. The sea witch Ursila notices this and offers her a way to see the

 

man again. She must give up her voice to receive a pair of legs. To get her voices back the Prince must fall in love with her. Ariel has to do this by the first full moon. The sea witch tricks King Tritan in not getting his power by using Ariels voice. Now Ursela has the power of the King Tritan. Ursela transforms herself into a mysterious dream girl to get the Princes love, to make the marriage between Ariel and Prince Eric fail. It doesn't work. When Ursela is revealed the power is restored to King Triton; Ariel and Prince Eric got married Ariel also got her voice back while having legs too. They lived happily ever after above and under the sea.

 

 

 

Jasmine

The Background of Jasmine

This movie was made in 1992 on movie. That year it was illustrated into a book. Later in the 90's it became a television show. It was made for children of all ages to enjoy. Walt Disney's corporation wanted it to be different from the other movies that were made in the past. The voice of Jasmine had one for singing and one for the voice. The voice of Jasmine was Linda Larkin. The singing voice was Lea Solonga. This is some facts about the movie Jasmine.

 

 

The Story of Alladin

        Jasmine is a princess but the law says that the princess must marry a prince by her next birthday. Jasmine wants to marry for love. On one night Jasmine leaves the palace in disguise. Jasmine is caught taking an apple at a market with a man. The man was there to assist her. They ran quickly away. She quickly fell n love with the man who was Alladin that night. Later that day a guard had caught up with Jasmine and the stranger . The guard took them to the Kings advisor, the evil Jafar. Jafar told her that the stranger died. Days later there was a parade where she met Prince Ali. There was a familia rabout him. Prince Aliwas really Alladan, he had a magic lamp that would transform him into a prince again. Jafar tells jasmine because he found the lamp. 

    The King respects her choice. He then changes the arranged marriage law for her to marry her true love. Then they flew away on the magic carpet to look down on their new life together.
