The Jack Russell Terrier is a small breed. It only grows to be about a foot tall. Once, it was used for fox-hunting, but had to keep up with the hounds. It was originally bred in England, and has just recently been recognized by the American Kennel Club.

Despite its size, this breed makes an excellent guard dog. Unless you want an excitable dog, I do not recommend getting one. I can guarantee, though, that it will always be happy to see you.

Jack Russells are very, very excitable dogs. The love balls and any toy they can play tug-of-war with. They also need to be kept in shape. Just give them vigorous exercise, and they will be fine.

As a puppy, Jack Russells can eat four times a day. As it gets older, you can wean it to dry food. Also, it only eats once a day. With that kind of feeding schedule and exercise, your dog will have a long life. |

Like all puppies, Jack Russells like to stay close to their mother. They need to be watched very closely. Remember, puppies can easily get into trouble, so consider everything about these dogs before getting one. | |

Like all dogs, this breed can live longer than usual if it’s cared for properly. This breed can live for about fourteen years. Just make sure it is happy, and it will be healthy as well. |
