The head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 1980’s was the legend, Chuck Noll. He was born on January 5, 1932. Chuck Noll is the only coach in NFL history to have four Super Bowl rings.  Unfortunately, he won no Super Bowls in the 1980’s. He retired in 1991.

Louis Lipps was born on August 9, 1962. He was the number one overall draft pick of the 1989 draft. Lipps made two Pro Bowls. His career stats are 359 catches for 6,031 yards and 39 touchdowns.

Walter Andrew “Bubby” Brister was born on September 15, 1962. He was the third round draft pick of the 1986 draft. He was cut from the team in 1992 and won two Super Bowl rings with the Denver Broncos.

Mel Blount was born on April 10, 1948. He was a five time All Pro Bowl defensive back. He intercepted 57 passes in his career, a Steeler record. He won four Super Bowls. He was drafted in 1980 during the third round. He retired in 1983.

Rod Woodson was born on March 19, 1965. He was drafted by the Steelers in 1987. He played defensive back until 1996. In 2001, Woodson won a Super Bowl for  the Raiders. He went to the Pro Bowl 11 times.
