The USC Trojans are the reigning champs from last year, they thumped Oklahoma 55-19 in the National Championship, and with 18 starters on offense and defense that are coming back they were are to be the team to beat. With an undefeated record this year of 12-0, they will most likely make the big game, the Rose Bowl.

The Trojan's offense is arguably the best of college football history. With the last years Heisman winner and a frontrunner they are the dominate team. Those two men are Matt Lienart and Reggie Bush. With their offense posting 51.7 points per game and almost 640 yards per game, they are hard to beat. | |

First to try and describe Reggie Bush is hard, as he is the guy that does everything. He runs the ball, catches, returns, blocks and the list goes on. In the first 8 starts, he had 1303 all purpose yards. Last year Matt Lienart won the Heisman everyone thought he would go to the NFL. He came back for more and is better than ever. Nine games have gone by and 3017 pass yards, 67.8 passer rating and 3 interceptions. Those stats are amazing.

Do you know what gets me pumped more than anything? A nice hard hit from the defense. Well then, I guess USC is my favorite defense. I would be scared to death if I was a quarterback on the opposing team facing the so called "Defense of Troy". Fact is they will bring the heat. Their defense is a 4-4, so that means they can bring a corner, safety, linebacker or any other defensive player. That is the reason why they win games and they stop the offense and cause turnovers. With Keith Rivers at middle linebacker he can cause big trouble. With their defense they average over 6 sacks per game. It is no wonder they have won 31 straight games.

But imagine how good they would be if some of their players were still there. USC has a whopping number of players in or soon to be in the Hall of Fame, for example O.J. Simpson, Carson Palmer, and our very own Troy Polamalu, just to name a few.

One of the oldest rivalries at USC is Notre Dame. For over 50 years the Trojan's and the Irish have met on the football field. This year the two played in South Bend. The game was the most anticipated game of the year. Notre Dame came in at 7 and 1, and the Trojan's were a perfect 8 and 0. The Trojans won by only 3 points an immediate ESPN classic. Sports Illustrated described it as one of the best games of all time. Even though they only won by only 3, the important thing was that they won and are still undefeated.
