The Texas Longhorns are the big team, down South that has come back to prove something. Last year after being ranked 5th, most of them got to play in the 3rd best bowl this is none other than the Rose Bowl. After being a little shaky, they won 41-38 over Michigan. With some stars coming back they were bound to be he dominate force in the South.

The heart and soul of this Texas team is the offense with stars Vince Young, Limas Sweed and Jamal Charles. These guys will bring it to you. Guess what, their offensive line has given up only 4 sacks on the season. Another fact is that they have the second best 510 yards per game and 39.6 points per game. Maybe that is why they are undefeated and ranked second.

The Longhorns defense, what can I say. They held every team under 17 points and that they have 6 shutouts in 9 games led by middle linebacker Aaron Harris, these Texans are ready to hit. With 38 sacks combined and Brian Robinson has 15 of the sacks, they are in a good place to win the national title. If there is one defense that you can count on to make plays, there is no doubt in my mind that I would take the defense of the Longhorns.

The man behind the unstoppable offense is non other than Heisman front runner, Vince Young. This senior quarterback is the real deal. He can do it all. He can run, pass and block. Yes, I said block. The reason is that when Texas played Memphis, Texas ran a reverse. When Limas Sweed got the ball, there was a 275 pound defensive end on his trail and just when he turned the corner, Vince took him out and for good. The defensive end was knocked out of the game. If you have ever seen Vince play, you will be amazed by his speed and agility. When the longhorns took a trip down to Oklahoma City to play the Cowboys Vince had 600 yards in one game, 250 rushing and 350 passing. So by now you have found out that Mr. Young is Texas go to guy.

The Battle of Big Texas. The Longhorn's Arch Nemesis is their local college Texas A&M. Last year A&M took the game in the 4th quarter but this year the Longhorns were out for revenge. They put a thumping on the Texas A&M and took back their bragging rights for good, well until next year.
