Miami is in the hardest conference, the ACC. This year their schedule was rough, but with only one loss in the beginning of the season, they are zoned in for bowl time, and the defense is nastier than ever. On the other hand, their offense is peeking at the right time too.

People always think of Miami as being overrated, or choke artists, and even cheaters. But I will tell you right now that all of that gibberish is crap. The reason is because of their defense. First off, Miami has the number one defense and is it fast. Few defensive linemen can run the 40 yard dash in a 4.4. Miami has a rare player and his name is Sedrick Ellis. He averages a mire 2.5 sacks a game, and creates havoc for offensive tackles. It is not all about the talent that makes Miami good, it is their intensity, aggression, and anger to get to the ball. After beating Virginia Tech, everybody all of a sudden started to talk about this squad of players. This squad of players who by the way beat Virginia Tech 27-7 at VT.

Like I said in the intro, their offense is peeking at the right time. They average 450 yards, 219 rush and 37 points, not bad. But the real test was VT. They put up 27 points on the Hockey's and having the ball most of the game. But offense would not be complete without Devin Hester (to the right) and Tyrone Moss (left). These two guys are credit for the scoring and yards. Devin Hester is a unique player. He plays return man, some offense and some defense, so basically you can put him anywhere and he will make a play. A different story for Tyrone Moss, the man just runs the ball and is good at his job. Moss averages 152.5 yards per game on a 2 touchdown a game trying to tackle that 6'0", 215 frame is not easy, and if he gets passed, you can just say, Goodbye.

Miami is unique as a team because they all are close, no one is left out. When they are on the road, they all eat breakfast, lunch and dinner together in the same room and get to know one another. I think that is just really cool to be able to bond with your teammates all the time and they act like it on the field. They pick one another up and always have a positive attitude, and there is not a Heisman star. They do it as a group.

The battle for the state Florida begins with this game, Florida and Miami. They don't play every year but when they do the stadium is sold out. Both teams leave the game with blood, tears and sweat. This is one of the longest rivals and hardest fought games no matter wherever and whenever they play. The rival has been pretty equal through the years. The rivalry doesn't end on the field. Both Miami and Florida recruit high school football players in the state. But Miami usually wins that game too.
