It also helps protect the wrestler from getting skin diseases in these areas. Most singlets are bought for looks. They also must fit and be comfortable enough for you to wear. Most teams and schools have their own designed singlet for their team.

SHOES- Wrestling shoes are not like ordinary street or basketball shoes. They can only be worn inside the wrestling room. They cannot be worn on the street or anywhere else outside. Wrestling shoes are usually light-weight and comfortable. Many famous wrestlers design their own shoes and sell them. Some wrestlers who did this were Cael Sanderson, Bruce Baumgartner, Rulon Gardner, and many others. Some shoes have many colors and designs so wrestlers would buy them.

HEADGEARS- A headgear is a protection device you wear on your head. Most tournaments and matches require a headgear to be worn, although, the Olympics do not. They are designed to protect the ears and some of the face from the mat and some injuries. Headgears really protect your ear from getting Cauliflower Ear. This is when the ear swells up almost to the point where it closes. Most headgear companies design for the looks. They also have to try and make it safe, reliable, and comfortable. Most teams require the kids to have a headgear of the team colors.

KNEEPADS- Kneepads are worn to protect the knee from direct contact with the matt. They are optional to wear and only if you feel the need too. They protect the knee from getting mat burn. This is a brush burn on you knee that you get when your knee slides across the matt quickly without anything covering it. Knee pads come in all different styles. They have small, thin ones and large, padded ones. They also come in many different colors for a wrestler or coach to purchase. They are very cheap. |
