The Beatles

James Paul McCartney was born on June 18, 1942 and probably had the best upbringing of all the Beatles. This was mainly because his family was not dysfunctional most of the time. He had one younger brother, Michael. His father and grandfather were musicians. Paul’s father bought him a piano at an early age. The shop he bought it from was owned by the father of the future Beatles manager (Brain Epstein). Paul showed great interest in music and was given a trumpet by his dad. He traded it in for a guitar because his lip would callous, and he couldn’t sing while playing it. He struggled until he started playing left handed. Paul’s mother died in 1956 from breast cancer.

Paul’s teachers liked him as a student, and he showed promise. He eventually dropped out after joining the Quarry Men. He was typically the one to tell the band members to clean up their act. He eventually brought George in for a successful tryout.

Along with most of the people at the time, Paul did drugs. He didn’t do them as heavily as some other people; he only did it to fit in. Even when he was on drugs, he managed to write some of the more famous Beatles songs, including “Yesterday”.

Paul married Heather Mills on March 12, 1969. They were separated only once when Paul was arrested in Japan for marijuana possession. If anything can match Paul’s career as a Beatle, it was his solo career.

With this band he performed one of his more famous songs “Live and Let Die” for a James Bond movie with the same title. Recently, he was knighted and has performed at places such as Red Square. He is arguably the greatest musician of all time.
