The Magic Kingdom

The Magic Kingdom is one of the five theme parks located at Walt Disney World Resort. The Magic Kingdom was opened in 1971 by cartoonist Walter E. Disney. His vision of a park was a fun, themed, family place. Critics thought the Magic Kingdom would be a flop, but it ended up being the most popular park in the entire world! It consists of six lands: Main Street U.S.A., Adventure Land, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Liberty Square, and Tomorrowland.

Stepping into Main Street U.S.A. is like jumping through a time portal. Welcome to turn of the century America. Main Steet U.S.A. is filled with a variety of old time shops, scenery, and even a horse and buggy! Main Street U.S.A. is bound to be one of your favorite lands.
Adventureland is a jungle themed kingdom. It has the most atmosphere of all lands due to creative jungle theming. One ride is the Jungle Cruise which is a ten minute adventure that takes guests on a cruise through Southeast Asian jungles, the Nile Valley, and the Amazon Rainforest. Another ride is the Pirates of the Caribbean which is a ten minute cruise that takes guests through a series of scenes depicting a pirate raid. Adventureland is one of the best sections of the park.

Frontierland is a land looking like the time of Cowboys in the old west. Here, you will feel like you just stepped into the old west. Some rides located in Frontierland are Splash Mountain, which has soaked riders since 1992. This ride illustrates the story of Br'er Rabbit as he tries to find his laughing place. Towards the end, as tensions mount, you soar down a five story drop and get soaked. This is one of the most exciting rides in the park.

Another great ride located in Frontierland is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Guests board a fifteen row train and stop in for the ride of their lives. They enjoy the sites of traveling inside and out of an old mine. The twists and turns will take your breath away. This is one ride you do not want to miss.

Liberty Square is a land made up a scenery to make it look as though you were around at the time of George Washington. In fact, you can find him here, at the Hall of Presidents! Here, you can find see all past forty-three presidents. It is a twenty minute presentation show casing robotic versions of the forty-three presidents. Also in Liberty Square, you can ride with ghosts, on the Haunted Mansion. This is an eight minute experience where you travel through a haunted mansion.

Fantasyland is a collection of all your favorite Disney movies. With it's centerpiece being Cinderella's Castle, you know this is not something you want to miss. Some rides located in Fantasyland are Peter Pan's Flight and the many adventures of Winnie the Pooh. In both of these attractions, you are taken through many scenes depicting the movie. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is a fun, colorful ride using ultra violet lights to make very vibrant colors.

Tomorrowland is one of the most frequently updates parts of the park because it has to depict the future. One ride that has never changed is Space Mountain. This thrilling coaster has been around since 1975. It climbs to 180 feet and then rockets through space at 28 mph. The twists and turns throughout the building mystify you as you think you are traveling through space. This 2 minutes and 38 second adventure is, in my opinion, the best ride in the park.

Overall, this is a great park built by Walt Disney. Also in Walt Disney World Resort there are other parks such as: EPCOT, MGM Studios, and Animal Kingdom. You can even get a hotel right next to the park. I would give the Magic Kingdom a nine out of ten for great theming, a wonderful story line to all of their rides, and a clean family park..
