| Jennifer Lynn Lopez or J Lo was born in the Castle Hill section of The Bronx, New York on July 24th 1969. Her father David Lopez is a computer specialist at Guardian Insurance in New York City. Her mother Guadalupe was a kindergarten teacher. She is one of three girls in which she is the middle. Her older sister Leslie is an opera singing housewife and her younger sister Lynda is a DJ on New York's WKTU a morning news show correspondent. Both of her parents were born in Puerto Rico, but they met in America. This is where she gets her Latino heritage. |

J Lo has been taking singing and dancing lessons since she was five years old. She went to catholic schools for twelve years one of which was an "all girl's" school. In addition to her performing arts activities, soft ball and in tennis and in high school was a gymnast. After high school she worked in a law office for a very short time, and at age eighteen left the house because her mother was scared by decision to pursue show business. |

J Lo has been married a total of three times. Her first husband, Ojani Noa, proposed to her in the middle of a dance floor at the wrap for "Selena" on October 28, 1996. They married February22, 1997 and divorced the first of January the next year. Her second husband, Chris Judd< met her during the filming of her music video "love Don't Cost a Thing". They married September 29, 2001 and divorced th26th of January 2003. Her third and current husband, Marc Anthony, secretly married her June fifth 2004. |
| After her breakthrough, J Lo went on to dance for famed singer-actress Janet Jackson. She can be seen in Janet's video for "That's The Way Love Goes". Her first major film was "My Family" by Gregory Nava in 1995. |
