Bethel Park Band Program

The Bethel Park Blackhawk Marching Band has long been “The Pride of Bethel Park.” The band is widely known and recognized for their traditional style. With their hard work, the marching band is one of the best.

The Bethel Park Marching Band is directed by Mr. David Buetzow, who has been at Bethel for many years. The Associate director is Mr. Mike Petrossi, and the Assistant directors are Mr. Aaron Booz, Mr. Len Lavelle, and Mrs. Robin Palyas. With their love for music and the band, the Marching band is always at its best.

The 2005 Bethel Park Marching Band has 165 members, which include Musicians, Bethettes, and Majorettes. They spend most of their summer learning several routines and practicing for the upcoming season. They March in many parades, play at every football game, and go on many trips.

Along with the Marching band, the Bethel Park Drum Line continues to wow crowds in the surrounding areas with their amazing routines. Last year on the band’s Disney trip, the Drum Line received a 1st place superior. It isn’t a surprise to see them getting the crowd excited at a Bethel Park football game.

The Marching Band also gets to go on many trips. Last year, the band went to Disney World and participated in a parade, and a competition. In order to go, the band has yearly hoagie sales. Last year the band sold 79,590 Hoagies. The band did very well in the competitions and enjoyed Disney immensely.

The Bethel Park Marching band always hosts the annual Marching Band Festival. Other bands from the surrounding communities attend and do their half-time show. Awards are handed out for every band in attendance. At the end of the year, a banquet is held and everyone has a great time. The marching band is a great organization, and something Bethel Park should be proud of.
