Jennifer Aniston was born February 11, 1969 in Sherman Oaks, California. Her parents are Nancy and John Aniston. Her father was a famous actor on the show Days of Our Lives. When she was six, her parents moved to Greece for a year for her father’s acting career. Her life was not always happy. Her life dealt with financial hardship and divorce.

Jennifer’s parents were divorced when she was only nine. Jennifer took the divorce very hard. After the divorce, she moved to New York, where she was raised by her mother. She went to school there, but didn’t do well in school. She missed her father all the time and hated growing up without a father.

As time went on, she got more into acting after she saw the Broadway plays Annie and Children of a Lesser God. She wanted to do acting for the rest of her life. Then in the ninth grade, she joined her school’s drama club. The drama teacher was very strict about schoolwork, so she finally got serious about her schoolwork and was getting good grades. Near the end of the school year, she got the second lead in her class play.

Before her school ended, she heard about a school that trained people for acting. It was called New York High School of Performing Arts, now known as the LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. Eventually she got an audition to go there and she passed the audition. She enrolled at the school at the age of 25 and she was a step closer to her acting career.

In her senior year there, they held a chance to be cast in the senior class play. This play was attended by show business agents and scouts who looked for new talent. Jennifer thought she might be cast in the lead, but she was only given a minor part. The part was enough to win the notice of agents. After the show, she had many massages from agents who’d like to represent her.

| She started to look for stage jobs after she graduated in 1987. Jennifer ignored her father’s advice to attend college. She was determined to have an acting career. To support herself, she took a job as a waitress at Jackson Hole. Between her shifts at her at her job, she would rush over to one audition after another. She was turned down many times. She decided to do theatrical, and signed a contract with the most hardworking of her agents and things started happening. |

First, she got a spot in the off- Broadway production of For Dear Life. Then she got another off-Broadway production comedy, Dancing on the Checker’s Grave. She still could not get the beat jobs in New York, so she decided to move to California. She left New York in 1989 to live and work in Los Angeles. She soon after won a part in the television series, Molloy. The Fox suddenly canceled the show. After many failures she finally got a break. She audition for Monica on the show Friends, but she knew she wanted the part of Rachel Green. No one knew the show was going to be a hit, but soon realized it was going to be. Her life suddenly changed. Before she knew it she was a big star in Hollywood.
