The #1 USC (University of Southern California) Trojans have won 32 straight games and haven't showed any sign of losing since there lose against the UCLA Bruins in 2003. They shared the national championship in 2003 with LSU, in 2004 the won the national championship crushing the Oklahoma Sooners 55-19 in the Orange Bowl, and this year there expected to play the Texas Longhorns in the Rose Bowl. The Trojans explosive offense is led by quarterback Matt Leinart, running backs Reggie Bush, and LenDale White, and wide receivers Dwayne Jarrett, and Steve Smith. USC's Defense is led by safety Darnell Bing who is one of the hardest hitting defensive backs in the country.

The Texas Longhorns are 11-0 and ranked #2 in the nation because of quarterback Vince Young who has been braking records through the air and on the ground. Last year after running back Cedric Benson left to go to the NFL no one thought his shoes would be filled for a long time , but this year true freshman Jamaal Charles has filled it perfect. In his first year as the Longhorns running back he has rushed for 782 yards and 9 touchdowns, and caught 1 touchdown pass. Receiver Billy Pittman has caught 5 touchdowns passes this year one of them going for 75 yards The Longhorns are the #1 scoring team in the nation averaging 49.2 points a game.

The #5 Virginia Tech Hokies are 10-1 and ranked 5th in the nation. The Hokies are led by quarterback Marcus Vick brother of Micheal Vick for the Atlanta Falcons. There only lost coming against the Miami Hurricanes in Blacksburg, Virginia. Virginia Tech lost 27-7. This game was supposed to be Marcus Vick's coming out game. It was supposed to be the game where he showed everyone how good he really is and so they stop calling him Micheal's little brother and calling him Marcus Vick, but it was like he never showed up. The Miami defense held the Hokies to only 167 total yards. Marcus Vick completed 8 of 22, lost four fumbles, and threw for two interceptions. He looked like the old Marcus everyone used to know two years ago. The Hokies still clinched a BCS bowl game even though they lost a huge rival game.

The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame are under head coach Charlie Weis (former New England Offensive Coordinator). Its Weis's first year as a college head coach and has been doing incredible. Notre Dame is 9-2 and ranked 8th in the nation. The Fighting Irish star quarterback Brady Quinn is a 6'4" 231 pounder who has led his team to a great season only losing 2 games. Quinn has thrown for 3,633 yards, 32 touchdowns and only 7 interceptions. He has a completion percentage of 64.2. There two loses are against #1 ranked USC, and the other against Michigan St. both loses were only by 3 points. Even though the aren't going to be in the national championship game they will be
in a BCS bowl game.
