In the Groove, or ITG, is an americanized newer version with modifiers so the arrows moved around and up and down, but arrive at the sensor at the same time on beat. Pump it Up is older than In the Groove, but it uses completely different arrows so players step on corner arrows and the middle panel when they show up on the screen.
