Ian Crocker was born on August 31, 1982. He was born in Portland, Maine. He now trains in Austin, Texas. He has a height of six feet and five inches. This year, 2005, he will be starting college at Texas, after graduating from Cheverus high school. |
| In they year of 2001, Ian tied and American record in the 50m butterfly. This was at the World Championships. He ended up placing fourth in it. He got a better time than his American record by two0tenths in the 100m butterfly at the P66 Spring Nationals and 100y butterfly at the NCAAs. |

In 2002, Crocker won a gold medal in the 100m butterfly. When this happened, he set a new championships record in the semifinals at the Pan Pacific Championship Meet. He came in second place in the 100m butterfly at the P66 Summer Nationals swim meet. He also swam on the American 400y medley relay, which was record-breaking. |
| Ian broke the world record in the 100m butterfly in the year of 2003. Also, he won a silver medal in the 50m butterfly. He swam the fastest butterfly relay split time in all of history, which lead the Team USA to the gold medal in the 400m medley relay at the FINA World Championships. |

In 2004, he earned a gold medal on the world record-breaking 400m medley relay for the American team. Also, he got a silver medal in the 100m butterfly. Both of those medals were won at the Olympic Games in Athens. Also, Ian won a bronze medal in the 400m freestyle relay. |
| In 2005, at the Mutual of Omaha Duel meet he won the 100m butterfly and the 400m medley relay. He also won both of those two events in the World Championships. During this, he beat his own record in the 100m butterfly. Also, he finished second place in the 100m butterfly at the world Championship Trials. |
