One day when Mr. and Mrs. Howard went to attend an opening of a new hotel their son decided to borrow one of his father’s trucks and go fishing with two friends. Unfortunately Frankie lost control and the truck flipped over the side of the road. The two boys lived but sadly Frankie died. Charles was devastated and full of grief.

Tom Smith was Seabiscuits trainer. Tom was a very plain and quiet man. He didn’t talk much and avoided social gatherings. Smith lived in a horse stall. Charles met Tom by a friend, George Giannini, who Tom was training horses for. At the first look Charles new he wanted him to train Seabiscuit.

  George Woolf

George Woolf was Seabiscuits jockey while Red Pollard was hurt. He got the job because Red and him were beloved friends of the past. George was the jockey that raced against War Admiral. George only raced a few races with Seabiscuit. He was a very good jockey and raced very well with Seabiscuit but was not anywhere close to as good as a pair as Seabiscuit and Pollard were.
