| Twenty years ago a mini arcade game call Donkey Kong was released. It featured a strange monkey named Donkey Kong who kidnapped a princess, you, as Mario (her lover), jumped over the barrels Donkey Kong threw and made it to the top of the screen and to the next level. This inspired the creation of Super Mario Bros. (and Donkey Kong, but no one cares) for the Nintendo. |

In Super Mario Bros. Mario and his brother Luigi (player 2) bounced on their enemies and defeated the evil Bowser. Usually he kidnaps Peach (the princess) and you have to save her. While in most games you shoot the enemy, hit it with something, or kill him in some other brutal way. In Super Mario Bros. the concept of bouncing on them as a fat, Italian guy was introduced. |
| 2 more Super Mario Bros games were released for the NES. Then, the super Nintendo was released. By this time the Mario tunes were stuck in every gamers head. No one will ever forget those annoying tunes as Super Mario World (see below) was released. 1 Year later Super Mario Kart was released. You play as most of the Mario characters racing each other to obtain the cups (mushroom, flower, and star) and beat the game. |

| Around this time super Mario RPG was released for the SNES. Mario has to collect 7 stars for something or other, I liked it. In 1993 Super Mario All-stars was introduced, on it, you could play any old NES games or Super Mario World. In 1995, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island was released, thus ending Mario’s existence on the SNES. 1 year later, on the Nintendo 64, Mario was introduced to 3D. Super Mario 64 was released. This game was just another game but you jumped in pictures in Peach castle this time, still very fun. In 1999, a new fun Mario game was created and newer versions of this game are still being created today. Yes I’m talking about the Mario Party games. OK I’m pretty sure there is no story to these games, but they’re fun. Just this month Mario Party 7 was released. |
| Finally we near the present day with the creation of the Game Cube. Mario Parties 5, 6, and 7 are on this system. In 2002 Mario learned of to shoot, water. In Super Mario Sunshine Mario gets a living refillable tank of water on his back as a partner when he goes on vacation. Apparently this island needs some cleaning off. Once you clean off your enemies, you, once again, bounce on their head. | ![]() |
| . Around this time a game called Super Smash Bros. melee came out for the Game Cube, It was probably one of the extremely few games rated T that Mario is featured in. In this game, you beat the crud out of each other as a bunch of Nintendo people. Mario, Dr. Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Bowser are playable in this game. However it is not entirely about Mario so I’m done talking about it. |

Just a year ago, the amazing Nintendo DS featured a remade version of Super Mario 64 in touch screen form. No real big difference though, except multiplayer. Until a new Mario masterpiece is made, my work is done.
