The Snyder’s company started in 1909 with Snyder’s founder Harry V. Warehime.  By 1948, the Hanover plant had doubled in size and opened a second plant near Berlin, Pennsylvania.  In addition to Snyder’s, there is an UTZ Quality Foods which sells potato chips and was founded/started in 1921.  The brand name for UTZ potato chips is “Hanover Home Brand Potato Chips”.  This UTZ plant make 50 pounds of chips per hour.

Board the Gettysburg Express at the historic Washington Street depot and take a ride through Gettysburg and Adams County.  You will see some of the area where the first day of the Gettysburg battle was fought.  You will then continue into Adams County.  In addition to many historical sites, you will encounter the beautiful scenic views and wildlife.  If you would like an adventure, take a murder mystery train ride, a ghost train ride, or you can enjoy a romantic dinner train ride at sunset.
