The Dalmation

When someone says Dalmatian, the first thing they think is a fireman's dog. In 1994 Dalmatians were  the most registered dogs in America.
They gained popularity in Great Britain and even more popular when the movie 101 Dalmatians Came out in Disney.
Theses are loyal  intelligent active and protective dogs.  They originated in Dalmatian.  They babies are born white.  When they get their spots is when they are most recognizable.
No two dogs spots are alike.  An adult can be 22-24 inches tall. A female can be 1-2 inches shorter.  The normal weight is 40-70 pounds.
He or She can be white with black spots. White with liver colored spots.  They have short hair.
  Grooming

This dog is kind of easy to groom.  A Dalmatian Sheds year round. So brush twice a week.  This will add gloss to the coat.  Then wipe down him or her every day with moisturizer.

He or She will groom him or herself once and awhile like a cat.  Wash him or her with mild hypoallergenic or moisturizing shampoo.
  Food

your dog will most likely live longer then his or her grand father or grand mother.  This is because of the food they eat.  Good food for dogs are milk, fish, eggs, cottage cheese, green vegetables, and fruit.  Your dog will need calcium and vitamins to stay healthy. The meat you give them could be cooked or raw.  Don't feed them too much fat unless it is in the winter.  Never feed them turkey  chicken, or chop bones. Also not much starch.

Check with your vet for the amounts.  Your dog shouldn't have potatoes, and you can't feed them just table scraps.  Fine cut carrots are healthy for a dog also.  An older dog will eat grass. This will clean their digestive system.   Another alternative is to feed them lettuce or spinach.  Don't have a hot meal or a cold meal for a dog. If their is left over throw them away unless they are fresh.  Once you find a meal your dog likes "stick with it.  Your dog won't get tired of it.
  Basic training

Training isn't really that hard.  Your puppy will learn. For house breaking don't rush them to the newspaper or outside.  If an accident does occur, explain to him or her that that is not the right thing to do. Never beat your dog.  When your little girl or boy dose a good job, you should reward them with a treat, a pat on the head, or the praise good boy or good girl. When duty is done, do not rush them into the house.  Coax them gently into the house.

  Commands

When commanding to your dog don't command in long sentences.  Make them short. Examples like sit, come, stay, out, down, good, and bad.  Also when speaking use actions. The most important word that your dog could know is their name.  Speak it over and over to  him or her again and again.  Then when you call him or her they will rush to you.

  Amusements

A good game that teaches obedience is a simple game.  This game is called fetch .  Throw the ball and point to the ball and say fetch. Stay and tell your dog to fetch.  If your dog runs after the ball and doesn't bring it back, tell your dog to bring and point to the ground in front of you. Then tell him or her to drop it.  Toys that squeak or fun to tug on are fun for a dog.  This toy should be able to entertain him or her.
