“The Samoyed dog while being a cheerful worker needs to snuggle too!” – Dog Fancy.

The Samoyed dog is actually pronounced Sammy-ed or short for Sammy.  Most dogs you meet on the street have changed through out the years, but not the Samoyed. As far the scientists have researched the Samoyed dog has never changed that much.

Samoyeds love cold weather, and they would love to pull a sled through the snow, or pull a cross country skier across the snow. They also adjust to warmer climates very easily along as they water and shade. But if they are inside during a very hot day they are most likely going to stay next to the air conditioning vent all day. Make sure you NEVER EVER shave a Sammy’s coat. The coat has weatherproof qualities that protect them from the sun and heat as well as cold and snow.  The Samoyed grooming is a hassle for any owner. Even though the Sammy’s coat is odorless and doesn’t mat as easily as other long haired breed.

Samoyed dogs have a long line of history with humans. Their names come from the Samoyede people who lived in Siberia’s frozen tundra. They would help the Samoyede people by reindeer herders, sledge pullers, watchdogs
