The band Green Day consists of the following members:  Billie Joe (vocals and guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass), and Tre Cool (drums).  Their real names are Billie Joe Armstrong, Michael Pritchard, and Frank Wright III.  Two members of Green Day, Billie Joe and Mike Dirnt started playing music together at the age of 14.  All members of the band were born in the same year, 1972.

Billie Joe is 33 years old.  He was born on February 17, 1972.  His dad died of cancer when Billie Joe was only 10.  He used to play in a band called 'Sweet Children'.  His hometown is Rodeo, California.  He has a wife Adrienne, and two children, Jacob and Joseph.

Mike Dirnt is 33 years old.  He was born on May 4, 1972.  His hometown is Berkeley, California.  Mike is not married currently but has an ex-wife and a daughter.  An interesting fact that I thought I might include about Mike Dirnt is that he broke both of his arms in a pillow fight with his girlfriend.

Tre Cool (middle one in the top left picture) is 32 years old.  He was born on December 9, 1972.  He has an ex-wife as well.  He also has a daughter and a son.  Tre's hometown is Willits, California.

		Some songs by Green Day are: 'Holiday', 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams', and 'Wake me up when September Ends'.  American Idiot happened after a bunch of their songs were stolen and they had to start all over.  Some of Green Day's songs have appeared on movie soundtracks such as American Pie 2, Austin Powers: The Spy who Shagged Me, and Varsity Blues.
