NETS The net is one of the most important parts of the volleyball courts. The height for a women’s net is 7 feet 4 1/8 inches. The height for a men’s net is 7 feet 5/8 inches. While the ball is in play you cannot touch the net. If the ball is driven into the net with such fore that it contacts an opponent that is not a fault. A player cannot spike the ball unless it is on that player’s side of the net. The only time your hand can go over the net legally is on a spike follow threw. Once the ball has hit the ground it is considered a “dead ball” and doesn’t matter if it passes over the line. |
