Clothing

The clothing you must wear isn’t to strict, but if your not wearing the right clothing you might not be aloud to play in that game. All team mates must wear the same uniforms. The shirts can not be too tight and must be made of cotton. Loose shorts are also good to wear, because as you go farther in your volleyball career you will develop very strong thighs. Most women wear briefs during practice. Almost all teams wear matching high socks resembling there team colors.

Shoes

It is essential that the soles of your shoes have grips. If your shoe slips and falls on the floor and your shoes slip on the floor and you slide past the center line you will get a penalty. You are supposed to have running shoes for volleyball, because in a tournament it is estimated that a player will jump the equipment height of the empire state building.

Jewlery

Absolutely no jewelry is allowed unless you must wear it for medical reasons. If you have jewelry and the referee sees it he will throw you out of the game until you take off all of your jewelry off. They make this rule in fear that something  will catch on your jewelry, and you will get injured.

Knee Pads

Knew pads are used for aggressive volleyball players that dive for the ball a lot. When players dive there knee pads cushion there knees from bruising. It is a smart idea that you have knee pads. You can play with out them but then you run the risk of hurting your knees.
