Schipperkes are busy little dogs who are lively. They learn really quick , and with that they still seem to poses the fact that they have an independent side to them. These dos can also be picky on the food they eat,, and even the chew toys that they receive form their owner. |
| What ever diet was given to the puppy (before you pick one out) , ask the breeder what the puppy should be fed. Most dogs should eat soft food, then progress to harder food as the dog gets older. Eating people food is not a good idea for dogs as small as these because chocolate is like a poison to their stomachs. |

When schipperke puppies are born, they are born as a very dark brown , and as they get older, they start to get very dark. Their under sides turn a lighter brown when the dog reaches the age of 11-14. Some other colors are a mix of brown and gray, and dark brown with alight tint of black and orange. |

The schipperke is basically is a dog that is a guard dog . For it to be physically fit, seeing a vet is good along with daily exercise will keep him alert. Leaving him from exercise is not a good idea, because the dog will fall down on the job as a guard. Leaving the house for too long will leave the dog away from exercise which is unhealthy for the dog. |
