He held the home run record for a long time at 60 home runs. No other team that year combined had that many home runs. |

Willie Stargell Willie Stargell played first base. He was a man that would quickly smile. He hit 475 home runs in his career. His career batting average was .282. He played 21 years he won a MVP award with 32 home runs and 82 RBIS.

Roberto Clemento Roberto Clemente learned to play base ball in Puerto Rico where he grew up. He was a right fielder most runners feared his arm. He got 12 gold gloves and won 2 World Series and played only 18 years.

He died on December 31 1972 when he was trying to bring supplies to his home country in an over loaded plain after a devastating earth quake. It crash on its way over there. His career was ended early but he died doing a worthy cause. Reberto clemento is my favorite player. |
