Balls Since 1975, major leagues have used cow leather to cover the balls. Before they covered it with horse hide. The home team has to provide five dozen baseballs a game.

Not every ball is exotically a like the like the one in this picture. The balls they use in the majors must way between 5 and 5 ¼ oz. The circumference is between 9 and 91/4 inches. The balls usually get to be in the game for 6 pitches. |

Bats In the major leagues they use wooden bats. Most people in the major leagues use a brand names Louisville slugger. The bats are made in Louisville Kentucky.

In little leagues they use metal bats. If you did not know bats you use to hit the ball. In the picture to the left is called a donut it is a round circler wait that goes on your bait to make in heaver so you strengthen your arms. When you get to the plate then your bat will feel lighter. |

Gloves There are many different kinds of gloves. They are a pitchers glove, catcher’s glove, out fielder’s glove and as in fielder’s glove. A pitchers glove has no holes or slots in it so the batter can not tell what pitch he is throwing by the position of his hand. A first base mans glove is longer and wider so he has a bigger area to catch the ball in.

A catchers glove has a lot of padding because in the majors people are throwing in the 90s miles an hour. A out fielders glove are bigger than a infielders glove and an infielder glove in smaller than an outfielders. An infielder needs a small glove so he can fiend the ball quickly. |

Helmets Helmets are there to protect your head. There really is not much to say about helmets. In the majors leagues there are only one ear piece on one side of the helmet.

It is on the side that is facing the pitcher. Many times helmits have saved many people from getting hurt. It is a safty percaution. |

Uniforms A uniforms consist of hats, shirts, pants, socks and some wear belts. The uniforms identify the players. It would be very confusing for the people who are watching if they all were the same thing. The uniforms have changed a lot over the years. On the shirt they have your last name and number and what team you are on. The picture to the left is a pisture of a more up to date uniform.
