Facts About Fall Out Boy

Fall Out Boy began around late 2001 or early 2002. This band consists of Peter Wentz ( bassist/ founder/ lyricist/ back-up vocals) , Andrew Hurley ( drummer ), Patrick Stump ( lead vocals/ guitarist ), and Joseph Trohman ( guitarist / back-up vocals). Both the band and the members grew up near Shermerville, in Chicago. Pete and Joe founded the band and Pat and Andy kind of just joined in. They just wanted to do something different with no intentions of becoming anything but what they already were. They didn't even have a name untill after their second show. They were playing at a college and they asked the crowd what to be called and someone shouted " Fall Out Boy ." Being from the midwest instead of somewhere like Los Angeles or New York all odds were pretty much against them. That just compelled them to try harder.

Fortunatley, by living like that helped them in the way that they didn't have to deal with the outside pressure that came along with living in a big city. It developed them into the band that they are today.

All of them basically live with their parents except for Joe Trohman who bought his own apartment. For a little, Patrick and Pete lived together in an apartment to write lyrics for the time that they are on tour.

Fall Out Boy is Currently on tour in two separate tours. One, that they are nearly complete with is The Warped Tour. They have just recently started the Nintendo Fusion Tour. Unlike The Warped Tour, The Nintendo Fusion Tour only has a few bands playing in it where in a different case, The Warped Tour has many. In February 2003, Fall Out Boy had a touring career with Less Than Jake, Keepsake, and American Hi-Fi.

Continuing with Fall Out Boy's roots, they also shared the stage with bands such as OkGo, Taking Back Sunday, and Throwdown. When the band wrote "Take This To Your Grave" they listened to bands like Green Day and the Descendents.

With an effort to stamp and aviod confusion with other bands, Fall Out Boy incorporates their dark sense of humor with in their songs and titles like " Our Lawyer Made Us Change The Name Of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Sued" and similar kind of title " Champagne For My Real Friends And Real Pain For My Sham Friends."

No matter how Fall Out Boy catches our humor they will always be here. From pounding on a drumset, to slamming guitar solos and spin kicks across the stage, or even singing a chorus you have to realize that is what those boys love doing. They are so hooked they're almost obsessed.
