The record's first single " Sugar We're Goin Down" was forced to retire off of TRL because it was on for sixty-five days straight. The clip also landed the band for MTV2 Video Music Award Nomination for "Best New Artist" and won. "From Under The Cork Tree" bursts with energy from a championship sporting event and resonates with the vibe of a good party, while retaining the honesty of a confessional conversation. |

The one difference between " Take This To Your Grave " and "From Under The Cork Tree" is that the last time Stump and Wentz wrote all of the music. This time around, they invovled Trohman and Hurley as well. The end result came out more smoothly, leaving with Fall Out Boy with twenty-five songs. They ended up dropping twelve songs making up thirteen tracks for the disc. | |

Their music contains punk and pop but they are not punk-pop. Likewise, their songs are emotional and their lyrics can be edgy but they are certainly not emo. By tapping into elements of their favorite styles, the band members are able to attain their own sound whilst standing apart from the pack. |
