of Oz. A sneaky little dog played by a Cairn terrier in the movie The
Wizard of Oz.
Lassie- A lot of dogs might have been called Lassie
but the 1st Lassie a collie starred in the movie “Lassie come
home.” Lassie was played by many male dogs, despite the girly name.
The directors thought male dogs looked better on camera. <color>
Pongo and Perdita- Pongo and Perdita were the mom
and dad in the Disney movies “The 101 Dalmatians.” Pongo has 72 spots,
Perdita has 68 spots and there little puppies have 32 black spots.
Balto- Siberian Husky-Balto was the head dog in the
team a huskies who carried Diphtheria serum 650 miles in 1925. That
type of dog is very strong if trained right.
Flash-TV Dog-Flash was the Basset Hound. He was
from the old TV. “The Dukes of Hazard.”
Rin Tin Tin-Rin Tin Tin was one of the most famous
canine movie stars. Rin Tin Tin was always played by a German Shepard
or maybe an Alsatian. “Rinty” was his nickname in many of the movies.
He was featured in 24 Warner Brother movies.
Lady and the Tramp-In the movie Lady and the Tramp
there was a Poodle named Lady. She was the prettier, richer dog in this
movie. Maybe that’s why the choose her to be a Poodle?
