FIGURE SKATING
Figure skating is a complex sport of edges, control, dedication, and concentration.  In this sport you wear a leather boot with a metal blade attached to the boot.  A skater trains, competes, and can learn all at the same time or at different times.  Even though figure skating sounds easy, this sport is easier said than done.  This sport is not like most sports that involve offense and defense.  In this sport you’re either by yourself or you can skate with someone else at the same time (usually of the opposite sex).  In this sport you train to try to win.  Figure skating does not need equipment except for your skates.

When you compete in this sport everybody is not on the ice at the same time except for a four to seven minute warm-up before you have to compete.  When you compete each skater has his/her chance to show the judges what they are capable of.  Depending on your level of the USFSA or the ISI, you are limited to what you can do.  Although, the most popular skating you see are people who are leveled by the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA).  You skate to music of your choice, but it is to be cut to a certain time limit (depending on your level).  Then the judges decide who should go in what place.
