Soccer has been around for many years and dated back all the way to the Roman times. Since then soccer has spread throughout the world rapidly. Many forms or soccer have been seen throughout the world. One for was played in the settlement of Jamestown in 1609. The play of soccer in the U.S was between universities during the early 1800’s. The sport soccer officially began in England during the mid-19^th century since then soccer has grown to what is now know as the worlds most played and favorite sport.

            The form the soccer we know has come from England. The first known soccer club in America was the Oneida Soccer Club and it was based out in Boston. The 1920’s were very good for soccer. It has now been called the golden age era since founding American soccer league has started.

One tournament that every soccer fan has come to love is the World Cup. The world cup is an enormous tournament in which countries all around the world participate. The first world cup was played in 1930.
