| The first Playstation came out in the 90s. It featured many games from Ape Escape, to Creatures, to ‘evolved’ Tetris games, and to Final Fantasy. It could hold up to two controllers, and did not support online games. But what we’re focused on for a while is the Playstation 2, or PS2, which was released in 2000. The PS2 houses many unique games like the EyeToy, which uses a special camera that puts YOU on the television, allowing you to interact in many different mini-games. |

The Playstation 2 allows up to two players to play, but there is a Multi-Tap which permits you to have up to four. The only downside to this is that only certain games can support the Multi-Tap. The PS2 can hold two memory cards as well. A slimmer, more compatible PS2 came out, which makes for much easier storage and travel.

~Jak and Daxter Trilogy~ Jak and Daxter, Jak II, and Jak 3. Jak and Daxter is the story of a young boy names Jak, and his smart-mouth friend, Daxter (who was incontinently changed into an orange, furry Otsell!) in their quest to save the world from two crazed, dark eco maniacs. It was your classic platform game, (You know, the running, the leaping, the fighting.) but you grew hooked to the crazy cast of characters. |
| Soon after, Jak II was released. It takes Jak, Daxter, and several other characters far into the future, plus an extra two years. It had the original J&D and added a huge spin to it. In this platform game, you get equipped with several weapons and the once extremely dangerous ‘dark eco’ is yours to control. It’s your job to put the right heir to the throne of Haven City and bring the infamous Barren down. You can explore every nook and cranny of Haven City, shoot up some ‘Krimson Guards’, (the run!) perform a few tricks on your Hoverboard, or help yourself to one of several types to hovercrafts and ride about the two levels of realistic traffic in the city. |

Jak 3 is the final game of the trilogy. Jak is unfairly banished from Haven City to live it out in the merciless desert. Luckily, natives finally find him and bring them to their desert city. Their kindness doesn’t come free, though, as you must prove yourself and fight your way back to Haven City, which is in pieces and chest-deep in war. The final addition of the Jak and Daxter series is here. You’re given dozens more weapons with awesome specials. You unlock more powers with now both Dark Eco.. and Light Eco, and you have two whole cities to roam. And to top it off, hop into one of the many desert cruisers and explore the huge desert area, participate in races, or uncover hidden artifacts that will help you on your journey. The Jak Trilogy is a definated Must-Have! to any PS2 game collection. |

There are quite a few GTA’s out there, but we’ll get to just one: The 2004 Hit, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. It was, as said before, released in 2004 and became a hit to the 2004 E3 Games and Playstation as a whole. The areas you can explore are enormous, and that’s not exaggerating! Everything is very realistic and detailed from the dozens and dozens of weapons to the nitty-gritty of the pedestrians. Though not a game for younger gamers, it didn’t stop GTASA to become a best-seller. |

Sony has many tricks up their sleeve, stunning ones, at that. In 2005, the highly anticipated PlayStation Portable, or PSP forced its way into the handheld-games world. This handy console does just about everything a PS2 does; it plays video games, (of course!) movies/DVDs, CDs, and multiplayer capability. It does this with clear, stunning graphics, all in your pocket! Games have come out modified to work on the PSP, or new games are out such as Ape Escape, Hot Shots Golf, and Need for Speed: Underground 2(To the right). |
