Introducing Britney

Millions have heard of Britney Spears. Britney dances and sings, and has fans across the world. But back in the day, the little girl with the sweet voice never thought that she would become famous.

A Star is born

Britney was born in Kentwood, Louisiana on December 2, 1981. Kentwood is a very small town; only fifteen hundred people live there. Britney’s first words were lyrics to a song. She said, “The radio taught me to sing.  I could hear a song and be able to repeat it instantly.”

Full of Energy

Growing up, Britney had so much energy that one day she rode her bike for about 3 miles.

Fame at Home

Britney was 10 years old when she gave her first performance.  The word spread about her voice and she had fame at 11 years old.  She moved to New York and appeared on Star Search.  Britney won the first round, but unfortunately lost the second      .

Cast at Last

Finally, at 11 years old, Britney joined the cast of the Mickey Mouse Club.  Britney had met Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, and Christina Aguilera.  When the Mickey Mouse Club went off the air, Britney went to Kentwood to take a break.  Then Britney got bored and bounced back into fame, releasing “Baby One More Time.”
