    -1894- Max Skladanowsky recorded a few scenes on film using the Bioskop  
 

-1894- One of the very first films is recorded called “Edison Kinetoscope Record of a Sneeze”.

 
 
   

-1896- The first kiss on film creates a major scandal from the Edison Manufacturing company film “The Kiss between May Irvin and John C. Rice”.

 
   

-1897- Georges Melies, a former magician, is the first to put nudity on film in “After the Ball, the Bath”.

 
 
   

-1901- Film cameras capture the funeral of Queen Victoria.

 

 
 
 

-1905- Man’s best friend is the star of new film “Rescued by Rover”.

 
 
   

-1908- “A Drama of the Puppets” is the first of animated drawings in France.

 
 

-1910- The very first Frankenstein is put on film.  Charles Ogle, who played the hideous monster, created the make-up for his character.

 

 
 
    -1920- The Silent Era, or when film had no sound, begins.  
    -1929- The end of the Silent Era  
   

-1930- Sound is introduced to film.

 

 
 
   

-1933- King Kong is put on film.

 
 

-1935- The debut of “The Werewolf”.

 
 
   

-1939- The gala premiere of “The Wizard of Oz”.

 

 
    -1957- Widescreen is introduced to film.
