Stretching is the biggest thing to do before and after a race. It helps you achieve a greater range of motion which helps achieve maximal stride length. Always, stretch before and after an event, stretching looses the muscles so you don’t pull anything and it shouldn’t hurt. It helps the athlete to gain greater flexibility and greater leg speed.
