Endurance is a key thing to running long distance. You need a lot of stamina to succeed. Stamina is working the lungs, the heart, and the legs. Do an aerobic training to build up the stamina. Go small to big. A couple miles each day.

Shoes should be comfortable. Nice trend so you can run faster. Also, you should have good insoles.

Runners should have a nice place to run. Distance runners and joggers should try to find a running surface that doesn’t have too much car traffic. Most likely it would be dirt or an asphalt road. The legs will get accustomed to these surfaces if you start gradually and don’t put in to much mileage to soon. If you were a short distance runners look for a flat surface. You should try to do all of your training on this surface in flat shoes, as both are easier on the legs.

Clothing for track is simple. It includes a sleeveless singlet, v-cut shorts, light weight socks and well fitting running shoes. For warming up and warming down, wear a sweat suit, ideally one with a hood. A nylon shell and wind pants over long underwear or a sweet suit are for ideal weather running under 30 degrees. Also, for appearance you can get a knitted cap and gloves.
