The Tigers lives in India, Southeast Asia, China, and Southeast Russia. Its habitats is extremely varied from the reed beds of Central Asia and temperature mixed conifer, and deciduous forests of the Russian Far East. They mostly like warm climates. | |
| The coat consists of black stripes on an orange background on the back and sides. The undersides are mostly white. The male tigers have a prominent ruff on the head. The darker pelages are found in the tropical rain forests of the Southeast and Sunda Islands. |

Their diet is mostly large ungulates, including various wild deer, cattle, and pig species. Tigers will also take smaller prey such as monkeys, badgers, and even fish. One individual tiger is known to have survived for fifteen years in the wild in the Royal Chit wan National Park, Nepal. They can live for up to twenty-six years in zoos. | The job of raising young falls to the females. The female tiger will have a new litter every two to two-and-a-half years according to the studies in Chit wan. The litter at birth is rarely known, although two to three cubs appears to be common. |

A tiger's eye has a circular pupil and a yellow iris. The white tigers have blue irises. The lack of cones in their eyes helps them see depth rather than color. A tiger's eyes are the brightest of any animal and the way they bulge gives a wide angle view. | |
| Tigers will live for about ten to fifteen years out in the wild on average. The elder tigers will take on a saggy appearance, their hip bones tend to protrude, and they often have to be fed on soft food like milk and eggs. |

The 1970's was marked an all-time low for the tiger when numbers decreased to approximately 1,800. The Indian Government has seen a rise in population numbers. India spends about $75 million US a year to provide protection from the tiger. |
